Chaos Computer Club The Chaos Computer Club resembles what is, according to the authors of this book, coming close to an optimal hacker group. They have extremely skilled members, a strong public persona, and many outlets to the media. The problem, however, is that the group lacks sufficient organization, coordination, and besides that they have a group of core members with a certain legendary aura around them. These “legends” are the people that have committed or achieved one very influential feat and as a result gain a sort of legend-like status. Less legendary or relatively new members deem everything they say to be the truth. As “groupies” flock to them and they receive acclaim wherever they go, they alienate themselves from the real world. They do not receive proper feedback anymore and only have “yeasayers” around them causing them to become distant from the real world, real people, and real issues.
